Textmate is the award winning editor for MacOS X, an incredible powerful tool for programmers, web designers and anyone else who needs to work with text files.
I love the minimal interface as well as its awesome support for macros and snippets. In fact TextMate is not an IDE but by using its powerful snippets, macros, and unique scoping system, it can often provide features that even a language specific IDE lacks. It has enough project management features to keep most users happy, but is otherwise kept lightweight with a clean and minimalistic GUI.

Out there it’s full of add-ons and Textmate now support all major programming languages!
